The vision is to strengthen interdisciplinary research that transforms the basic understanding of the mechanisms involved in metabolic health and disease and to accelerate this knowledge toward new prevention and treatment strategies.

The purchase of ABPMpro devices (SOMNOmedics) is an essential part of the data collection for the Danish Precision Health Initiative, where we collect data on multiple aspects of the cardiometabolic health status of participants. This research project leverage from other cohorts by including “at-home” data collection using Vanguard technologies, where the ABPMpro is one of these technologies. The ABPMpro is a unique patented technology for the measurement of 24h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (and other essential blood pressure components) without any tubes or wires disturbing the everyday life of particpants.

Explanation:

The ABPMpro device is the only technology available on the market, which is capable of combining the following product characteristics in a single device simultaneously:

- Blood pressure measurement via oscillometry

- Continuous blood pressure measurement via pulse-transit-time method.

- ABPM device attached directly to the upper-arm cuff (no tubing required)

- Cuff integrated 1-channel ECG for the detection of heart rate variability.

- 3-channel ECG recording

- Optical sensor for PPG, which can be used to display the pulse wave and for the detection of sleep arousals

- Intelligent inflation and/or deflation measurement of cuff blood pressure

- Activity and body position sensor (arm).

- Body position sensor (thorax)

- Impedance Cardiography via 3-channel-ECG sensor for the detection of breathing.
